Red ibérica para la investigación y desarrollo de aplicaciones en base al modelo atmosférico MM5: un proyecto abierto

Resumen

A principios de 2003 se creó la Red Ibérica MM5, una iniciativa conjunta de grupos de investigación básica y aplicada de España y Portugal, coordinada desde la Universitat de les Illes Balears, cuyo objetivo es estimular y canalizar la colaboración entre los diferentes grupos que aplican el modelo numérico de simulación atmosférica MM5 . La red temática se materializa en la celebración de reuniones periódicas y en la difusión de todo tipo de conocimientos, metodologías, interfaces y aplicaciones propias a través de su página web (http://redibericamm5.uib.es). Aprovechando el excelente foro que supone el 5º Encuentro Hispano-Luso de Meteorología, se describirán las características concretas de la red, los principales logros conseguidos, y se invitará a todos los grupos o individuos interesados en contribuir o beneficiarse de sus actividades a integrarse en ella.
[EN]At the beginning of 2003 it was created the MM5 Iberic Network, a joint project of basic and applied research groups from Spain and Portugal, coordinated from the University of the Balearic Islands, with the aim of enhancing the collaboration among the groups that are currently applying the MM5 atmospheric numerical model. The network activities are based on periodical meetings and the dissemination in its web page http://redibericamm5.uib.es) of any new knowledge, technique, interface or application developed by the groups. Taking advantage of the 5º Encuentro Hispano-Luso de Meteorología, we will describe the specific characteristics of the MM5 Iberic Network and its main achievements. Moreover, all groups or individuals interested in contributing or benefiting from the activities developed by the network will be invited to become a member of it.
