PERTURBACIONES CLIMÁTICAS Y ESPORÁDICAS CAUSADAS POR LOS AVIONES
Resumen
La aviación ha llegado a ser un poderosísimo agente perturbador de la atmósfera. Aunque la masa de contaminantes emitida a la atmósfera por los aviones sea muy inferior a la emitida por el transporte terrestre (el 12 % del total de los combustibles fósiles consumido por el transporte se emplea en la aviación), debido a que los aviones dispersan los contaminantes en zonas más vulnerables y de las que resulta más difícil su eliminación, las consecuencias pueden ser más graves. De hecho, los contaminantes emitidos por los motores de los aviones tienen constatadas muy graves consecuencias sobre la capa de ozono, la cobertura nubosa y la estructura térmica de toda la troposfera y la estratosfera, incluidas las capas de aire inmediatamente próximas a la superficie de tierras y mares.Citas
