Variabilidad multidecadal del Atlántico Norte en Modelos del CMIP5
Resumen
La Oscilación Multidecadal del Atlántico es un modo interno de variabilidad de la temperatura de la superficie del mar con un periodo de entre 50 y 70 años. Está relacionada con la circulación termohalina y tiene importantes influencias en distintas regiones. Su fase positiva corresponde a una TSM del Atlántico Norte (Sur) anómalamente alta (baja) y se ha asociado con un incremento de la actividad de huracanes Atlánticos y de la precipitación sobre el Sahel y el monzón del sur de Asia, así como a una reducción de las precipitaciones sobre el norte de Sudamérica.
El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar cómo reproducen los modelos de última generación la variabilidad multidecadal del Atlántico Norte así como los impactos.
